PT Journal AU Hrabi, L SO e-Pedagogium PY 2003 BP 19 EP 25 VL 3 IS 4 DE Biology textbooks; evaluation methods of the text difficulties; text difficulties; syntactic factor; semantic factor AB This article contains knowledge about evaluation of the text difficulties of 6 actual Czech biology textbooks for the seventh year of the primary education. Two methods were implemented. One of them was realized according to NESTLER-PRUCHA-PLUSKAL and the next one according to PRUCHA. Similar results of the text difficulties were obtained by both methods: 32,22 points and 31,81 points. Lower variability was achieved by method NESTLER-PRUCHA-PLUSKAL. It shows that this method is more suitable for the evaluation of the text difficulties. The sequence of the textbook difficulties was the same at both evaluation methods. The biology textbook of NOVA SKOLA publishing company is more difficult then the textbook of PRODOS publishing company, FORTUNA publishing company, SPN publishing company, SCIENTIA publishing company, and the textbook of JINAN publishing company is not as difficult as the others.
