AB  - The paper is focused on the analysis of the current state of ICT (information and communication technology) skills of teachers. As regards the ICT teacher training, due to the termination of government programs aimed at developing of ICT skills of the teaching staff a vacuum arose in this area and teachers have no longer an opportunity for further systematic training in this area. We tried to respond to this situation by creating a complex of courses focused on the development of ICT skills of teachers that are currently implemented in an ESF project. The article compares the status of research findings on the use of ICT by teachers with the results of our research surveys, which have been realized within the implementation of ICT courses for teachers at the Department of ICT Training, the Centre for Lifelong Education at the Faculty of Education, Palacky University in Olomouc. Our results have shown a shift in the approach of teachers to the use of ICT in teaching.
