AB  - The contribution deals with a pilot study used for verification of a research tool related to pupils' opinions of the importance of biology skills. The research tool was a questionnaire with 61 Likert type items divided into 4 parts. There was also investigated the influence of gender, grade and class on the pupils' opinion. The sample consisted of 91 pupils from a primary school. The Cronbach's alpha was used for the determination of reliability, and the Analysis of Variance was used for the finding of the influence of independent variables. The conclusion part of the contribution contains information about a future research.
