AB The following text presents the results of research, which investigated the parents' look at the period from detection of hearing loss of their child until the child was implanted cochlear implant. The subject of research was to identify how the parents of children with hearing impairments related perceive the process from the detection of hearing impairment, the decision-making process about cochlear implantation. For data acquisition, the technology of semistructured interview was chosen. The research involved 13 informants.
